Behind the vibrant celebrations of York Pride is a dedicated team of volunteers working tirelessly to bring North Yorkshire’s largest LGBTQ+ festival to life. From organising events and securing sponsorships to ensuring accessibility and inclusivity, our committee is passionate about creating a space where everyone feels celebrated and supported. Together, we work to champion equality, diversity, and community spirit, making York Pride more than just a celebration—it’s a movement for positive change.
As a registered charity, York Pride relies on the hard work and collaboration of its team. Our directors, who also serve as trustees of the charity, hold regular full committee meetings to provide updates on their respective teams, share important decisions, and track progress. These meetings are a key opportunity for directors and managers to come together as a large team, fostering collaboration and a shared vision that aligns with the charity’s objectives and mission.
In addition to full committee meetings, directors chair sub-group meetings focused on specific areas of responsibility. These smaller meetings involve managers from their teams and support volunteers from the wider volunteer pool. They provide a space for detailed discussions, problem-solving, and planning to ensure every aspect of the charity’s work is effectively managed. This dual approach—balancing big-picture collaboration with focused team discussions—helps York Pride run smoothly while staying true to its values of inclusivity, diversity, and equality.

Executive Leadership Team (Board of Trustees)
(All Directors are Trustees of the Charity and lead their respective teams)
- Chair / Managing Director (Leads the organisation’s strategic direction, governance, and overall event delivery; heads the Executive Leadership Team)
- Vice Chair (Supports the Chair and oversees HR and volunteer management; also oversees Volunteer Management Team)
- Secretary (Manages meetings, records, and administrative functions)
- Finance Director (Treasurer) (Oversees budgets, accounts, and financial reporting; heads the Finance Team)
- Marketing Director (Leads marketing, website, design, and content creation; heads the Marketing Team)
- Festival Director (Leads the planning, infrastructure, and delivery of the festival; heads the Festival Team)
- Parade Director (Leads the planning, logistics, and delivery of the annual parade; heads the Parade Team)
- Sponsorship Director (Leads sponsorship, partnerships, and grant applications; heads the Sponsorship Team)
