York Pride Cabaret Stage
In partnership with QueerArts and Jorvik Radio

In 2024, the Cabaret Stage was a dazzling highlight of York Pride, proudly brought to you by QueerArts and Jorvik Radio. This vibrant platform showcased an eclectic mix of talent, celebrating LGBTQ+ artistry, diversity, and creativity. From show-stopping performances to intimate acts filled with passion and pride, the Cabaret Stage offered something for everyone, creating unforgettable moments for performers and audiences alike.
Featuring a range of acts from local performers to nationally recognised talent, the stage was a true celebration of queer expression and culture. Thanks to the support of QueerArts and Jorvik Radio, it became a space for creativity to thrive and voices to be heard.
We’re already planning for an even bigger and better Cabaret Stage in 2025. Stay tuned for updates as we reveal the exciting collaborations and line-up details that will make next year’s celebration one to remember!
2024 Cabaret Stage – Presented by QueerArts and Jorvik Radio
The QueerArts stage at York Pride 2024 was hosted by Adam Coggin and Ginger Slice. Adam, an experienced presenter and co-host of Refresh Rewind on Sundays from 12 PM to 2 PM, brought his expertise to the event, having previously worked for Minster FM and currently serving as a director at Jorvik Radio. Ginger, a well-known figure on the York drag circuit, added flair and charisma to the stage, drawing from her role as co-host of The Robynne & Ginger Show on Sundays from 6 PM to 8 PM.
“We were so excited to provide a platform for local LGBTQ+ artists to showcase their talents and share their stories at York Pride,” said Lou Bartley Sophocleous, Community Coordinator at QueerArts York. “QueerArts is committed to uplifting voices from our community and celebrating diversity through the power of art.”
For those eager to explore performance but not yet ready to take the stage, QueerArts York offered alternative avenues for artistic expression. Participants joined the QueerArts Choir or took part in Jive Classes, connecting with like-minded individuals while honing their skills in a supportive environment. For those who preferred backstage roles, QueerArts also sought volunteers to support Pride.
QueerArts York curated a full programme of arts, dance, and music classes from early 2024 through November. These classes provided valuable opportunities for LGBTQ+ individuals to express themselves creatively and engage with their community.
“We were thrilled that Jorvik Radio had the opportunity to support such a fantastic event alongside QueerArts York,” said Adam Coggin. “Jorvik Radio has a history of supporting LGBTQIA+ artists, and we were proud to be on stage hosting the QueerArts stage, celebrating everything that makes York Pride so special.
Last year, the QueerArts stage celebrated incredible talent from various backgrounds, showcasing what a creative and diverse city York is. For anyone thinking of applying to perform next year, my advice is simple: go for it!”
