We’re currently recruiting for three exciting roles:
🎨 Graphic Designer (Volunteer Role)
Are you a visual storyteller with a flair for design? We need a Graphic Designer to help create eye-catching, impactful visuals that bring our online and offline marketing materials to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design graphics for social media, the website, printed materials, merchandise, and event signage.
- Work closely with the Marketing Director to ensure brand consistency.
- Help develop new merchandise designs that resonate with our community.
- Produce print-ready materials for our annual Pride event and year-round activities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with design tools like Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
- A good understanding of design principles, including composition, typography, and accessibility.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to turn ideas into engaging visuals.
- A collaborative team player who can adapt designs for different platforms.

📱 Marketing Manager: Social Media Administrator (Volunteer Role)
Are you a social media enthusiast who loves engaging with online audiences? As our Social Media Administrator, you’ll manage daily posting, monitor engagement, and help build connections with the community across our social platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and publish content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Monitor comments, messages, and community interactions, responding professionally and empathetically.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer to deliver engaging, on-brand content.
- Track engagement analytics to help inform future content decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with social media management or community engagement.
- Understanding of content formats and audience behaviours across different platforms.
- Familiarity with tools like Meta Business Suite and Canva (training provided if needed).
- Comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT for content inspiration and drafting posts.

💷 Grant Writer (Volunteer Role)
Are you a skilled researcher and persuasive writer with a passion for community impact? As our Grant Writer, you’ll play a vital role in securing funding that supports York Pride’s ongoing growth, accessibility improvements, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and apply for grant funding opportunities from local, regional, and national sources.
- Collaborate with the Festival Director to secure funding for accessibility improvements, such as trackway, signage, and viewing platforms.
- Work with the Sponsorship Director to develop new funding streams beyond sponsorship, including community grants and arts & culture funding.
- Prepare and submit applications for relevant awards, including the YorkMix Awards, Gaydio Pride Awards, and Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards, to showcase York Pride’s achievements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or bid writing.
- Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to tailor content for different funders.
- Strong organisational skills to track applications, deadlines, and funding outcomes.
- Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) and openness to using AI tools like ChatGPT for brainstorming and drafting content.
