Volunteer at York Pride 2026

York Pride is made possible by the incredible people who give their time, energy, and enthusiasm to make it happen — and we’d love for you to join them.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable, and community-minded volunteers to be part of York Pride 2026. Whether you’ve volunteered before or are completely new, this is your chance to help deliver one of Yorkshire’s most loved celebrations.

What You’ll Be Doing

Our volunteers keep the day running smoothly and help create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for everyone. Roles include greeting visitors, supporting the parade, helping with set-up, guiding guests around the festival site, assisting at Pride HQ or backstage, and providing accessibility support on key areas such as trackway routes. Every role is vital in helping to make York Pride safe, friendly, and enjoyable for all.

What’s Involved

Volunteering is flexible – you can give a few hours or stay for the whole day. Every volunteer receives a full briefing and on-the-day support, plus a York Pride wristband, drinks, snacks, and our heartfelt thanks.

Who Can Volunteer?

Everyone is welcome. We’d especially love to hear from first-time volunteers, LGBTQ+ people and allies, and anyone who wants to gain experience at a major community event.

Volunteering at York Pride is a brilliant way to meet new people, develop skills, and be right at the heart of the celebration. You’ll join a supportive team helping to deliver North Yorkshire’s largest free one-day event, which welcomed over 17,500 people in 2025.

Details on how to sign up for York Pride 2026 will be announced soon. Follow @yorkpride to stay up to date and be first to hear when applications open.

Together, we make Pride happen. 🌈

Join the York Pride Team

This is your chance to get involved with North Yorkshire’s largest LGBT+ celebration, develop new skills, and play a key role in helping us engage and inspire our community as we plan for York Pride 2026.

We’re currently recruiting for several exciting volunteer roles across our teams. If one of these opportunities sounds like the perfect fit for you, we’d love to hear from you. Please email info@yorkpride.org.uk with a short introduction and your most up-to-date CV.

Together, we make Pride happen.

Marketing Team

Marketing Managers (two positions available)
We’re looking for two creative and organised Marketing Managers to help shape and share the story of York Pride 2026. One role focuses on keeping our social media channels active and engaging, while the other supports the website and wider digital communications. You’ll work closely together to promote events, highlight partners, and share key updates with our community. It’s an ideal opportunity for anyone passionate about communication, inclusion, and digital storytelling.

Graphic Designer
We’re also seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join the Marketing Team. You’ll create bold, on-brand visuals for campaigns, events, merchandise, and digital media that capture the energy and inclusivity of York Pride. This role suits someone with a flair for design who can commit time around their own schedule — either as part of the Committee or as a contributing freelancer. You’ll collaborate with the Marketing Director and team to ensure York Pride’s visual identity continues to shine.

Finance Team

Finance Manager
Behind every successful event is careful planning and accountability. The Finance Manager works closely with the Finance Director to help manage budgets, payments, and financial reporting for the charity. You don’t need to be an accountant, but confidence with numbers, spreadsheets, and detail is important. This role plays a vital part in ensuring York Pride remains financially secure, transparent, and well organised.

Sponsorship & Fundraising Team

Sponsorship Manager
Help us build the partnerships that make York Pride possible. The Sponsorship Manager works alongside the Sponsorship & Fundraising Director to identify, develop, and maintain relationships with local businesses, brands, and community organisations. You’ll help prepare proposals, coordinate sponsor involvement, and celebrate the partners who support Pride. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys networking, collaboration, and connecting organisations with meaningful community impact.

York Pride is powered entirely by volunteers — passionate people who care about equality, visibility, and celebration. If that sounds like you, join us and help make York Pride 2026 our most exciting year yet.
