York Pride comes out for Sport
Our theme for 2013 was “Out in Sport” sport is an area in society where homophobia is rife.

This year the Parade  included professional rugby league players, the mascots from York City FC and York City Knights and many of the City’s politicians to send out the message that York will not tolerate homophobia and prejudice in sport. York City Knight’s Head Coach, Gary Thornton, and Sophie Hicks, Director of York City FC, spoke at the start of the Parade outside York Minster, together with Leader of the City Council, Cllr James Alexander.
